No More Landmines helps and empowers communities around the world by removing the threat of landmines and
unexploded weapons. We also provide support for survivors of landmine accidents to enable them to lead fulfilling lives.
The presence of landmines cripple Croatia’s recovery from the conflict in the early 90s. Thirteen of 21 counties are affected by landmines, measuring 1,700 square kilometers. The landmine threat restricts mobility and impedes development. Croatia aims to be declared ‘mine-safe’ by 2008 but this will take considerable support from both their own government and overseas.
